Contacts in Sakari are divided into four types and displayed in the Contacts panel as follows.
Valid
A valid Contact appears in Sakari in all-black text.
- Contacts are Valid in Sakari when Sakari can recognise the telephone number as belonging to your account's Default Country and/or correctly formatted for the country of origin with the international dialling code (see E.164 format).
Note: A valid Contact record in Sakari does not guarantee that the number can receive SMS.
Invalid
An invalid Contact is highlighted with a red exclamation mark in the Contacts panel:
A contact is marked as Invalid in Sakari when Sakari cannot recognise the mobile telephone number.
Opted-in
An opted-in Contact appears with a white checkmark in a blue icon:
A Contact will appear as opted-in if they have:
- Opted in to the Platform Free Trial (see Platform Free Trial (US Trial Accounts) FAQ)
- Sent a message to your Sakari number that contains an Opt-In Keyword (START, UNSTOP) - (see Sakari Support for Opt-Out Keywords)
Note: The opted-in symbol in Sakari only reflects the corresponding contact's consent to receive SMS from the number itself.
Blocked
A blocked Contact has the following symbol on their record in the main panel:
Contacts are blocked in Sakari when:
-
-
the contact texts an opt-out keyword (e.g. STOP or CANCEL) to one of your numbers
or
- they are manually blocked in Sakari by an Account Administrator: Block a contact from the Inbox
-
If you record a contact opt-out via another method (e.g., updating a CRM property), it will not create a block in Sakari.
When a contact is blocked in Sakari, no further messages can be sent to them from any number on your Sakari account.
Contacts can lift a block by texting in an Opt-In Keyword. Please see this article for more information: Sakari support for carrier opt-in keywords
