All SMS messages must be validated by a sequence of number providers, networks, and carriers to reach their destination. The “Sent” and “Delivered” message statuses in Sakari are based on the most accurate information available from this downstream process.
"Queued" messages
A "Queued" message status indicates that Sakari has sent the message and is awaiting confirmation that the number provider has sent it to the outbound carrier.
"Sent" messages
A "Sent" message status indicates that Sakari has received confirmation that the message was sent to the outbound carrier.
Queued and Sent messages appear in the Messages panel like this (single checkmark):
"Delivered" messages
Messages with a "Delivered” message status indicate that the receiving carrier provided a delivery receipt stating the message was sent to the contact's handset.
Delivered messages appear in the Messages panel like this (double checkmark):
Errored messages
Messages with an error icon indicate that the message has either failed to send from Sakari, or the carrier has failed or refused to deliver it to the handset.
Errored messages appear in the Messages panel like this:
Hovering over the error icon on the message will display the error description in a grey pop-out. Often, the error description contains guidance on the next steps to take.
Note: Open the Conversation in the Messages panel to reveal the hoverable icon. Hovering over the error icon in the Conversations list will not reveal the error description.
