10DLC Registration Guide (US Messaging)

Requirements

Before submitting your application, make sure you meet all the following compliance requirements.  As of Nov 6, 2024, carriers have been additionally strict during the review process.

  • Your CTA/Message Flow (how you obtain opt-in) must be fully compliant and display all necessary disclosure information
  • Your Privacy Policy must explicitly exclude mobile originator / opt-in data from sharing/use cases
  • You must have an SMS Terms of Service either as part of your existing TOS or as a standalone.

Even if you've been approved for 10DLC with Sakari or another platform previously, new campaign submissions will be required to meet updated standards for approval.

Fees

For most accounts, only 1 Brand and 1 Campaign need to be registered.

Sakari collects the following fees for the submission of your application and passes them in full to the The Campaign Registry and our Aggregator.

Each submission will be charged a non-refundable $45 fee that includes:

  • $4 Brand registration fee (one time)
  • $15 Campaign vetting fee (per submission)
  • $30 quarterly regulatory fee (recurring fee)

Rejected campaigns may require an additional $15 campaign vetting fee for resubmission.  If you are unsure of the requirements, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

Registering

Once you are sure you meet the requirements, you can submit your 10DLC application from Senders section of the Sakari dashboard.

  • Click Register under the Compliance column for the number you wish to register.

Additional numbers

A single 10DLC registration covers up to 49 US local numbers on a single Sakari account.  If this is your first 10DLC registration application, you can select multiple numbers now or add the campaign to the numbers after approval.

Submission Checklist

  • Opt-in is compliant and accessible by the reviewers
  • Privacy Policy is compliant
  • Terms of Use includes SMS section / separate SMS Terms of Use included
  • Campaign description and sample messages match selected Use Case(s)
  • Sample messages reflect selected campaign options (embedded phone and embedded link)
  • Website meets requirements if age-gated content
  • At least one sample message includes opt-out text (e.g. Reply STOP to opt-out)

Timing

With a fully compliant campaign, please expect to wait around 5 - 7 business days for approval. Any rejections will reset the approval timeline.
