Selecting 10DLC Use Case(s)

Standard use cases can be selected during the campaign creation flow in Sakari's dashboard. 

Please refer to the following examples when selecting your Use Case(s) for your 10DLC submission.

Note:

Any selected use cases must be explicitly stated in all parts of Campaign (opt-in, submission description, and sample messages). 

Campaigns will be rejected unless selected use case(s) are genuinely relevant and well-supported.

Standard Use Cases

Mixed

Any messaging campaign containing 2 to 5 standard use cases.

By selecting more than one of the below standard use cases, you are creating a Mixed use case campaign. Include at least one sample message for each selected use case for your submission.

Marketing

Communications that include marketing or promotional content (e.g. sales notifications, discount offers, limited-time deals, new product launches, event promotions, recruitment opportunities, etc).

Description: BRAND NAME will send promotional messages about sales, discounts, and limited-time offers to our subscribers.

Sample Messages:

  • Hi from BRAND NAME. Our summer sale is on! Enjoy up to 50% off. Shop now at [URL]. Reply STOP to opt-out
  • BRAND NAME - Don't miss our weekend sale! Get 30% off on select items. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
  • Exciting news from BRAND NAME! We're hiring for [Job Title]. Apply today at [URL]. Reply STOP to opt-out.
  • BRAND NAME - Introducing our newest product: [Product Name]! Upgrade today and be the first to try it! Reply STOP to opt-out.

Customer Care

Customer interactions, including account management and customer support.

Description: BRAND NAME will provide customer support, account management updates, and assistance via SMS.

Sample Messages:

  • Hi, this is BRAND NAME. How can we assist you today? Reply STOP to stop.
  • BRAND NAME - We have updated our privacy policy. Find out more at [URL]. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
  • BRAND NAME - Your recent support request has been received. A representative will contact you shortly. Reply STOP to opt-out.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Any one-time use passcode, authentication, or verification.

Description: BRAND NAME will send OTPs and authentication messages to verify user accounts and ensure secure access.

Sample Messages:

  • This is BRAND/DBA. Your OTP for account verification is 123456. Reply STOP to stop.
  • BRAND/DBA - Your OTP for resetting your password is 789012. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Account Notifications

Standard notifications for account holders.

Description: BRAND NAME will send real-time updates about account status and related information to our users.

Sample Messages:

  • Hello, this is BRAND NAME. Your account balance is now $1000. Reply STOP to stop
  • BRAND NAME - Your premium membership will expire in a week. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Delivery Notifications

Status of delivery of a product or service.

Description: BRAND NAME will provide real-time updates on the status of customer deliveries. 

Sample Messages:

  • This is BRAND NAME. Your package with tracking number 123456 is out for delivery. Reply STOP to stop.
  • BRAND NAME - Your order has been delivered. Please confirm receipt. Reply STOP to opt-out.

Fraud Alert Messaging

Notifications about potentially fraudulent activity on a user's account.

Description: BRAND NAME will send immediate alerts about potential fraudulent activity on user accounts.

Sample Messages:

  • Alert from BRAND NAME. Unusual activity detected on your account. Please contact us immediately at 123-123-1234. Reply STOP to opt-out
  • BRAND NAME - Your account has been temporarily locked due to suspicious activity. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Higher Education

Messaging on behalf of colleges or universities, as well as school districts and educational institutions. This use case is not for the "free to the consumer" messaging model.

Description: BRAND NAME will send educational updates to students, including course schedules and exam notifications.

Sample Messages:

  • This is BRAND NAME. Your next semester enrollment starts from July 1st. Reply STOP to stop.
  • BRAND NAME - The final exam schedule has been released. Check it on our website. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Polling and Voting

The sending of surveys and polling/voting campaigns in non-political arenas.

Description: BRAND NAME will conduct customer surveys and polls via SMS to gather valuable feedback and insights. These messages help us improve our products and services by engaging directly with our customers.

Sample Messages:

  • Hi from BRAND NAME! We'd love your feedback. How would you rate your recent experience with us? Reply with a number from 1 to 5. Reply STOP to opt-out
  • BRAND NAME - Help us improve! Take our quick survey and share your thoughts: [Survey URL]. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Public Service Announcement

Informational messaging to raise an audience's awareness about important issues.

Description: BRAND NAME will send public service announcements to raise awareness about important topics.

Sample Messages:

  • This is BRAND NAME. Remember to conserve water during the summer months. Reply STOP to opt-out.
  • BRAND NAME - Join us in our campaign to clean up the local park. Details at [URL]. Reply STOP to opt-out.

Security Alert

Notification that the security of a system, either software or hardware, has been compromised and action is needed.

Description: BRAND NAME will notify users of potential security issues related to their accounts or systems.

Sample Messages:

  • Alert from BRAND NAME. We've detected a potential security issue with your account. Please update your password. Reply STOP to stop.
  • BRAND NAME - A new login to your account was made from an unrecognized device. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Specialty use cases

Specialty use cases require additional approvals and/or steps and cannot be submitted via the Sakari dashboard. If your messaging use case falls into one of the below categories, contact the our support team

Charity: Communications from a registered charity aimed at providing help and raising money for those in need. 501c3 Tax-Exempt Organizations only.

Proxy: Peer-to-peer app-based group messaging with pooled/proxy numbers. Supports personalized services and non-exposure of personal numbers for the enterprise of A2P communications. When submitting, please describe your use case thoroughly to allow for the carriers to review as required. This use case typically utilizes number cycling from a number pool vs dedicated numbers for each agent (we recommend the Agents and Franchises use case for numbers dedicated to specific agents).

Sweepstakes: Gambling and sweepstakes messaging.

Emergency services: Public Safety notifications are designed to support public safety/health during natural disasters, armed conflicts, pandemics, and other national or regional emergencies.

Agents, franchises, local branches: Brands that have multiple agents, franchises, or offices in the same brand vertical, but require individual localized numbers per agent/location/office. Please provide use case details when submitting, and allow time for carrier approval.

Political messaging: Part of an organized effort to influence the decision-making of a specific group. All campaigns must be verified. If an organization is a 501 (c)(3), it should register under the charity class. If a 527 organization needs to register, it should register with Campaign Verify to receive a token that can then be input on the Brand page to register a political campaign.

Social engagement: Communication between public figures/influencers and their communities. Restricted and upon business case review. Strictly limited.
