What is 10DLC?
10DLC registration is a regulatory requirement by the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs, or Carriers) for all outbound A2P messaging from local area code numbers to the US & territories.
How much does 10DLC Cost?
All 10DLC fees are regulatory through-fees collected by upstream partners.
Initial submission to and review by Sakari is free of charge, with unlimited resubmissions allowed.
After passing Sakari internal review, each submission is charged an initial non-refundable $49.50 fee when passed to the carriers for final vetting:
- $4.50 Brand vetting fee
- $15 Campaign vetting fee
- $30 quarterly regulatory fee (recurring fee)
Campaigns rejected by the carriers may require an additional $15 campaign vetting fee for resubmission.
For most accounts, only 1 Brand and 1 Campaign need to be registered.
If you are unsure of the requirements, please reach out to our support team for assistance.
How long does registration take?
Currently, 10DLC approvals take between 7-10 business days for compliant submissions. If no emails are received about the status of your application by 7 business days, please reach out to help@sakari.io
Are there alternatives to 10DLC registration?
Toll-free messaging is an alternative to messaging from a local phone number in the United States. Messaging from a Toll-Free number still requires a verification process per number, but there is no registration fee.
If this is something you would like to add, please reach out to our team at help@sakari.io to update your account to a Toll-Free phone number.
Why is 10DLC registration required?
Carriers want to have visibility into the "who" and "what" of each messaging campaign which allows them in turn to provide a better quality of service for 10DLC messaging and reduce spam on their networks.
