All messages in Sakari are sent from one number to another, the same as between mobile handsets.  This article lists the outbound number types supported for sending SMS from Sakari.

Sending to the United States and Canada

• Toll-free number (+18xx-xxxx-xxx)
• Local area code 10-digit long-code number (+1xxx-xxxx-xxx)
• Shortcode - 5 or 6-digit number

Sending to other destinations

Domestic long-code virtual mobile number (LVN)

• a mobile number prefixed by the international dialling code for a specific country
• typically supports two-way SMS by default (please check the country-specific article for restrictions)

Alphanumeric Sender ID

• a bespoke 'number' consisting of 3 to 11 letters and numbers (e.g. your brand name)

Personal mobile numbers cannot be used in a virtual platform like Sakari as they are dedicated to a physical handset.
