Set up the HubSpot SMS Integration

Overview

Using the HubSpot integration with Sakari, you can send and receive SMS messages directly from your HubSpot account.  You can automatically trigger personalized message templates using workflows, send individual messages to any contact and view and respond to contacts' responses.  All activity is tracked and recorded on the contacts timeline.

Note: Connecting the HubSpot integration will automatically sync your HubSpot contacts into Sakari.

Connecting HubSpot to Sakari

  1. Log in to your Sakari account at https://sakari.io
  2. In the left navigation, go to Integrations > Marketplace
  3. Find the HubSpot integration
  4. Click View and Add
  5. Select the account that you want to connect to your Sakari SMS account.

    Note: The email used to authenticate the integration must be associated with a user profile in Sakari to support all required permissions.  To create this profile, see Create a profile for a new user

  6. Click the "Choose Account" button in the lower left to grant permissions for Sakari to sync with HubSpot.hubspot-connect.png

You've now connected Sakari and HubSpot.  Now, customize how Sakari communicates with HubSpot. 

Integration settings

Event Notifications

This setting defines how data is pushed back to HubSpot when messages are sent or received.

Mobile Phone Property

This setting determines which phone number on a HubSpot Contact is synced to Sakari.  

HubSpot has two default phone number fields: "Phone Number" and "Mobile Phone Number."  Sakari can sync only a single phone number to a single HubSpot Contact record (Contact ID).  

The default setting for initial synchronisation when the integration is first connected is:

  • Mobile Phone Number > Phone Number - Sakari will attempt to use the mobile phone number field for each contact first, if that field is null, the phone number field will be used.

 

After the integration is connected, you can change this setting for syncing additional (new) contacts.  Select the field of the contacts' preferred number for receiving texts.

  • Phone Number > Mobile Phone Number - Sakari will attempt to sync the number in the Phone Number field for each contact first; if that field is blank, the Mobile Phone Number field will be used

     

  • Phone Number - Sakari will only attempt to sync the number in the Phone Number field.  If this field is blank, the contact ID will not be synced

     

  • Mobile Phone Number - Sakari will only attempt to sync the number in the Mobile Phone Number field.  If this field is blank, the contact ID will not be synced

Create New Contacts in HubSpot

When activated, a new contact record is created in HubSpot when an unknown phone number sends a text to your dedicated Sakari phone number.

User Sync (optional)

Activating User Sync will invite all your HubSpot users to the Sakari account.

1. Select the default role that will be automatically assigned to these users.

2. Select the default Group that these users will be added to.

3. Click the ‘Sync Users’ button to begin the process. This will also send each user an email invitation to join your Sakari account.
