How Workflows Work
Workflows are built from two core components: Enrollment Triggers and Actions.
Enrollment Triggers → Workflows start when a specific event occurs — such as a contact being created, a message being received, or a link being clicked. Enrollment Triggers define when and how contacts enter a workflow.
Actions → Once enrolled, contacts move through a series of actions that execute automatically. Actions can be one of several types:
- Communication — Send SMS or MMS messages to contacts
- Contact Management — Update contacts, add or remove contacts from lists
- Logic — Branch, filter, split, and make decisions based on contact data
- Delays — Pause a workflow for a set time or until a specific event occurs
- Data Ops — Read from or write to external data sources like Google Sheets
- Integration — Create deals, meetings, tickets, and activities in connected CRM platforms
Each Enrolled Contact that passes the Enrollment Trigger filters/conditions is considered one "Workflow Execution". Each Workflow Execution consumes "1 Workflow Credit*" in Sakari's billing system. *See Sakari Plans for details.
